Conscious Union Yoga embraces the teaching and philosophy of Unity Yoga within a contemporary context and with a fresh viewpoint inspired by Osho. Sri Swami Satchidananda brought Integral Yoga to the West, himself a disciple of Swami Sivananda, one of the founders of Yoga for the Western World.
“Yoga is not a religion but a way of life. When you display any act of kindness, for example, that’s Yoga. It brings happiness and well being. I absolutely love teaching Yoga and am so inspired when I see people growing in their lives and becoming more whole, happy and healthy human beings!”

More about Yoga and Meditation
The practice and study of yoga helps to bring about a natural balance and integration of the body, mind and spirit in which the state of optimum health and happiness can manifest. The Yogic goal is to become conscious, to reach the oneness of being, bringing all parts of ourselves together and so becoming in tune with existence. The 5 Niyamas of Yogic philosophy focus on the relationship you have with yourself and are crucial in revealing the nature of your true being. These are :
Saucha - Purification of the body n mind through the practice of Yoga postures (asana), breathing (pranayama) and meditation
Santosha - Cultivating an attitude of commitment to the self
Tapas – Training the senses
Svadhyaya – Inner exploration through meditation
Ishvara Pranidhana – Surrendering to your spiritual source (the real you)
Yoga is an applied science of the mind and body. It comes from the ancient Hindu Vedas (scriptures) and originated in the Indus Valley in India some 5,000 years ago. Yoga itself does not create health; rather, it creates an internal environment that allows the individual to come to his own state of dynamic balance, or health. Basically, yoga teaches that a healthy person is a harmoniously integrated unit of body, mind and spirit. Therefore, good health requires a simple, natural diet, exercise in fresh air, a serene and untroubled mind and the awareness that man’s deepest and highest self is identical with the spirit of God. As a result, to many devotees, yoga becomes a philosophy that offers instruction and insight into every aspect of life: the spiritual, the mental and the physical.
